Welcome to Hope Falls...
Miriam
Parker has played Melanie Stevens on the highly rated TV Soap Opera, "Hope Falls", for the past thirty years. And now her
ratings are dropping.
Like every actor on Hope Falls with a lifetime contract, Miriam knows what happens when her
ratings fall: they will kill her. Signed on for life, Hope Falls owns Melanie Stevens.
Now, in a desperate race for
her life, Melanie Stevens is in a race against time to escape before they kill her...and write her death into her storyline...
Introduction
I have long been fascinated by soap operas.
I love the way they eat up the days and
mark up the calendar with something to do. I love the lives that we get to lead through the characters on screen, the loves,
and the births. I love the evil villains, the hated town slut, the young lovers, the old lovers, the devious evil plots, the
steamy love scenes.
It’s all life imitating art imitating
life. Nothing on soap opera’s really happens.
But we wish it did.
Thus, I was struck with an idea…..
I was watching the Emmy’s one evening
and the woman who plays Alice Horton and the man who had played Uncle Mickey on Days of Our Lives were receiving Emmy’s
for their work on Days of Our Lives. They both had Life Time Contracts.
I sat there thinking: What would happen if their contract
really was for a whole life time? And thus Hope Falls was born.
It is my parody of a soap opera, my tribute
to them, my imitation of life. The novel is part spoof of Soap Operas and all that they can be, part noir and part mystery.
Please enjoy season one. It is the first book of what is projected to be a trilogy. I have almost finished Hope Falls Season
Three. Let’s hope that it keeps going after that.
All right, ready for some fun? Turn on
the television and keep reading..
And don’t forget the Mai Tai’s.
