Introduction
I have long been fascinated by soap operas.
I love the way they eat up
the days and mark up the calendar with something to do. I love the lives that we get to lead through the characters on screen,
the loves, and the births. I love the evil villains, the hated town slut from Salem, or Tabitha from Passions. It's all life
imitating art imitating life. Nothing on soap opera's really happens.
But we wish it did.
Thus, I was struck
with an idea. I was watching the Emmy's one evening and the woman who plays Alice Horton and the man who had played Uncle
Mickey on Days of Our Lives were receiving Emmy's for their work on Days of Our Lives. They both had Life Time Contracts.
I
sat there thinking: What would happen if their contract really was for a whole life time? And thus Hope Falls was born.
Hope Falls: Season One spawned another book: Eagle Valley: Hope Falls Season Two.
There were too many unanswered questions, too many things left unsaid.
And still, as more questions were answered,
more were left unanswered. I knew that I could not hope to finish Hope Falls in two books. And, like every good soap opera,
it just kept growing, the story lines twisting themselves around one another like spider webs.
Now we come to the end
of the trilogy: Dragon's Cove. In it, the lives of many will change forever. It is my parody of a soap opera, my tribute to
them, my imitation of life. The novel is a spoof of Soap Operas and all that they can be.
A note before we begin: This
is a serial novel. It is, essentially, the rough draft of a novel. So if there are errors, they are mine and will be corrected
if the books ever see print.
Alright, strapped in? Ready for a ride?
Let's Begin….
